peter-kortekaas-b-1946-reclining-nude-unglazed-ceramic
Peter Kortekaas (b. 1946) Reclining Nude Unglazed ceramic
An intimate ceramic sculpture by Dutch artist Peter Kortekaas, depicting a reclining female nude.
Working in unglazed ceramic, Kortekaas reduces the human figure to soft, sculptural volumes. The untreated surface gives the work a tactile, almost archaeological quality, while the compact composition allows the figure to be viewed from multiple angles.
The reclining nude has a long tradition within modern European sculpture. Here, Kortekaas translates the classical subject into a small and highly tactile object, balancing figurative detail with abstraction.
Its modest scale makes the sculpture particularly suited to a bookshelf, console or side table, either as a standalone artwork or within a collection of modern ceramics and sculpture.
Details
Artist: Peter Kortekaas (b. 1946)
Title: Reclining Nude
Medium: Unglazed ceramic
Dimensions: ca. 17 × 16 × 8 cm
Signature: Signed ‘P KORTEKAAS’ underneath
Country: The Netherlands

Provenance
Private collection

Condition: Good

Designer: Peter Kortekaas

Brand / Maker: Peter Kortekaas

Shipping: Contact the dealer for a shipping quote.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0795/4166/6138/files/peter-kortekaas-b-1946-reclining-nude-unglazed-ceramic-6814689.jpg?v=1790974699
