{"product_id":"nic-jonk-1928-1994-three-seated-nudes","title":"Nic Jonk (1928-1994) Three seated Nudes","description":"An expressive early work on paper by Dutch sculptor and artist Nic Jonk, depicting three seated female nudes.\nCreated on 20 January 1965, the composition shows Jonk's characteristic fascination with the human figure. Using fluid lines and touches of watercolour, the three bodies are reduced to rhythmic, rounded forms — a visual language closely connected to the voluptuous figures that would become central to his sculptural work.\nAlthough best known for his bronze sculptures, drawing formed an important part of Jonk's artistic practice. His works on paper reveal the immediacy behind his sculptural language: energetic lines, movement and an enduring fascination with the female form. Jonk's oeuvre repeatedly returned to figurative and mythological subjects, particularly female figures. Vroenhof\nDated 1965, the work comes from a formative moment in Jonk's career. That same year he established himself in Grootschermer, where his studio and sculpture garden would eventually develop into the museum and sculpture garden associated with his work.
