Milo Baughman

Milo Baughman (1923–2003) is one of the most collected American furniture designers of the mid-century period — a California modernist who understood that American homes wanted European sophistication without European formality. Working primarily for Thayer Coggin, his chrome-framed lounge chairs, sectional sofas, and case pieces from the 1960s and 1970s have become staples of the international collector market.

Baughman's use of chrome, burl wood, and rich upholstery fabrics gave his work a glamour that sits comfortably between Knoll's corporate rigour and the warmth of Scandinavian modernism. Demand for his pieces has grown strongly across the US and Europe. Collectors Network features authenticated Milo Baughman pieces from specialist vintage dealers.
