Antique French ‘Cloche de Melon’, 19th century

Wonderful antique French ‘cloche de melon’; beautiful watergreen glass.

These cloches were used in gardens to protect young plants for cold and rough weather outside.

Highly decorative, just by itself, or you can put a nice item underneath the glass, but as is, on a large farmhouse table, will look marvelous…

Considering its age the item is in a very good condition. Some minor things such as a small chip off the knob at the top (which is usually cut off ) and along the rim. See images.
