Rosewood tambour sideboard by Gianfranco Frattini for Bernini, Italy

Designed in 1957 by Gianfranco Frattini and produced by Bernini, this Italian-made small sideboard is a standout piece of mid-century modern design. It features two horizontal tambour (roll-top) doors crafted from striking rosewood veneer, showcasing a rich grain and deep patina acquired over decades. A hallmark of this series is its unique bentwood frame, which draws inspiration from the curves of Roman architectural arches. This collection remains one of Frattini’s most celebrated successes from the 1950s. Gianfranco Frattini was a titan of Italian modernism, revered for his innovative constructions and uncompromising craftsmanship. Condition: Very good original vintage condition with only minimal signs of use. On the top there are some wrinkles in the fineer as shown on the last pictures.
