About this piece

Art work, painting by French artis Jacques Daufin (1930-) ‘Le village’. Professionally framed. Size includign wooden frame: 73,5 x 52,5 cm.

 

The artist spent his childhood in North Africa. He graduated from the School of Fine Arts in Oran. He moved to Paris in 1948, and in the following years he participated in group exhibitions in various Parisian Salons such as “the Salon of Young Painting, the Salon des Indépendants, the Salon d’Automne”.

Heexhibited in the largest Parisian galleries such as the Galerie Suillerot and Galerie Romanet. At the same time he exhibited in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Tokyo, Zurich, Hamburg… Since 1960 he has lived in a small village in Vexin, a few kilometers from Auvers-sur-Oise.

Jacques Daufin’s paintings are part of the most prestigious collections: in the United States, South Africa, South America, Asia and throughout Europe.

Museums and foundations own works by the painter: Museum of Modern Art in Paris, Museum of Sao Paulo, Museum of Riyadh, the Firestone Foundation, the Franklin Roosevelt Foundation…

It can be compared to the French Expressionist movement. His landscapes are divided into geometric shapes with great sensitivity where the use of palette is concerned.
