Martin Visser

Martin Visser (1922–2009) spent five decades shaping Dutch modernism from his position as chief designer at 't Spectrum, the Bergeijk-based manufacturer that became a benchmark for quality and restraint. His SZ furniture series — low-slung, architecturally rigorous, upholstered in leather or fabric — defined a generation of Dutch interiors.

Visser's work is now firmly in the canon: his pieces appear in museum collections from the Stedelijk in Amsterdam to the Vitra Design Museum.
